Riverwind Casino is probably the nicest Oklahoma casino I have been to in regards to design, amenities and cleanliness. The smoke seems to be better filtered here too. They have tons of slots to choose from, and they update them frequently. I have never attended one of their concerts but they always have big name acts performing. There are several dine-in restaurants a 4 fast food places inside. The bar is really pretty, it's circular an sits right in the middle so u get a great view of everything. They have valet parking, but I don't use it. In my case I found parking to be a pain since their always packed full. They have a hotel now I heard was very nice, but whenever I try to reserve a room its always booked. As far as winning goes, I used to win quite frequently in the past. But the last 6 or 7 times I have been I haven't won anything. Sometimes you can hear the slot bells going off all over the casino, other times its super quiet, that's when I have the worst luck. If you are there late at night, be careful. There seem to be alot of strange characters around and someone tried to sell me drugs twice. You have to really watch your back, esp if you're alone.
This casino is like any casino in Oklahoma... very smoky. And like any other casino some days you will do great and other days you will not win a single spin with $5 in all lines minimal bets. The more crowded the casino is the tighter the slots it seems.
Nice casino, not a cheap place to play. Swings are usually 1-2k but, when the slots do hit it's not for a minimal amount. Was given free deluxe room (equivalent to a mid level suite at most casinos) after one trip only spending $1,500. Room is nice hotel staff very friendly and accommodating. Be sure to grab some of the snicker doodle cookies at the desk! Poker room staff are top notch! They will do anything they can to accommodate the player and are very fair when floor is called for a discrepancy. Only casino I have been to where you didn't have to waive down and wait a ridiculous amount of time on drink servers. Only reason for lacking the 5th star is the non-existent casino hosts; however, the player's club is great and very accommodating. Valet is very patient and helpful.
Parking is in the back of the casino along with the main entrance. Valet parking is available from the front of the casino.
To do something different for Thanksgiving, we who still live met up at Riverwind casino for lunch. This is a huge complex with many different entertainments. Parking was easy if you drive all the way around to the door by the buffet. They offer valet parking. However we passed on that and offloaded nearest the buffet. Wheel chair conveniently located by the entrance for our oldster, she found it a comfy ride. The line was short at that time. we had about a 10 minute slow crawl to the cashier. I was not aware that there was a discount if I had a "Riverwind card". I will have to find one before I go again. The background music was loud. The decor I suppose would be termed casino noir? The game room in which the buffet is accessed was not what I expected to see in the way of one arm bandits. A more modern look.
This casino is far better then the one in Newcastle. And this casino offers free fountain drink Pepsi products, coffee and even hot chocolate and cappuccino from a machine.
We will stay here again. The service was delightful. The employees were friendly in a very sincere manner. The room was excellent, very clean, plush towels, comfortable beds, and elegant decor. There was plenty of large truck parking on a lot with bright lights and security.
First, if you sign up for the players club card and give them an email. You will receive $7 free play on each day of the month that has a 7 in it (the 7,17 & 27th). The casino won't tell you that when you sign up.
Restrooms are kept pretty clean even with lots of people trashing the restroom (at least in the men's restroom that is).
The buffet was stocked with Thanksgiving holiday fare. And it was tasty, but not quite the cornucopia of variety I had expected. The staff was hard at keeping it stocked up. Unfortunately for me, I retrieved a black forest cake with a raspberry sauce that smelled delicious for our oldster, but on returning for one for me a food giant was busily stuffing the last five into a togo bucket. We did not have time to wait for the staff to restock them.
Wonderful Experience
Overall it was a pleasurable experience. Convenient, tasty, and a nice scenic drive to boot.
