Always friendly and helpful
All things considered, it's as pleasant of a place as u can get for a courthouse.
My husband and I visited the county clerks office to get a marriage license. The woman we spoke to was pleasant, efficient, and had us on our way fairly quickly. When I returned the license a few days later, another woman helped me and I received multiple copies of the license, plus the original, at no extra charge. Both women were professional and polite.
I went in for my marriage license, and the clerk was excessively rude. We had our ceremony a couple of weeks ago out of state, and when she asked when we were getting married, that's what I tried to say. We were just getting the document taken care of that day. She rolled her eyes, proceeded to act exasperated, and lectured me about how I can't just come in and sign a document. Of course I had done my research and I knew we would be taking that paper to be signed by a minister (I have some issues with that anyway, but refrained from causing trouble), but I had been being asked about my wedding and its date for months and just tried to answer like a normal human. Unfortunately, even with that settled she continued to be rage inducing rude. I was so mad I raised the wrong hand to "swear to god", though I am thoroughly irreligious. Maybe she is nicer to people who don't show up to get a marriage license in jeans and a T shirt, maybe she was having a bad day, or maybe she is tired of her job. I even stopped her to ask if we were bothering her and maybe needed to come back a different day. Whatever the reason, I had already expected to feel excluded and wronged on this "special day" because of my state's attitude toward secular individuals. After her treating me and my husband like so much trailer trash, the day I chose to legally bind my relationship will always have a bitter dark stain. Congratulations Norman Court Clerk Office, for you have made an atheist cry hard tears of despair today. From my history with the Oklahoma government, that seems to be a driving goal city and state wide. I hope you are happy with my sorrow.
The clerks and judges at this court house are very helpful to our customers! Some of our customers in other counties across the state claim that the clerks and secretaries are extremely rude, but we don't hear that from Cleveland County! Thank you for helping make Express Documents and Mediation's job just a little easier!
Our home was burglarized last month and we lost not only our valuables but several of our documents in the theft. The Cleveland County Court Clerk was so understanding and so wonderful to work with. I did not follow all of the instructions correctly, but without hesitation, they helped me anyway. They were very compassionate and helpful. I specifically spoke to Carol so big thanks to her and anyone else who assisted in the process of getting us another copy of our marriage license which was stolen when our safe was removed from our home.
