Great middle school. School makes accommodations directed towards each student's individual needs. (For example, if a student struggles in reading, or another subject, the school will place the student in a homeroom directed towards the subject, insuring their progress. ) Counselors are very experienced and will advocate for any needs a student might have. This middle school had the highest average student grade out of all of the four municipal middle schools in the Norman district. Teachers are very empathetic at Whittier, and will help to insure student progress. The administration, while disciplining students, will be empathetic to parent/student/teacher needs. Head Master is very experienced, and sympathetic.

Whittier middle school is a great school the teacher there are great the kids are so nice and the 8th graders are nice not mean and Scary

My years at Whittier were very enjoyable. I felt prepared and ready whenever I left after my 8th grade year. The school really knows how to have fun with the kids. Although the activities were fun, the teaching wasn't. Yes, there were attempts at making the education slightly a bit more interesting, but most of the time, epically in my 7th and 8th grade year, I felt lost. Some teachers don't have much control over their class, or even worse, cannot teach the subject well. And like a saw in another review, gossip about the children is becoming bigger. The school is nice and all, but there are definitely things that need to be fixed. Simple things.

This is my 2nd year at this school. I love all of my teachers, all of my classes, and all of my friends that I have made there! My only concern is the people that threaten to kill themselves over break ups and depression for no reason. All that the staff at this school do about this just send them to the counselor and most of the time send them to a different school. Then about a month after those kids come back and start it all over again. That is the only problem I have with this school. Everything else is fine. Stay cool Whittier!! WMS!!

Good education, good teachers for the most part, lots of after school tutoring and activities. My only problem is that some teachers can only teach one way and the experience becomes dry, except for the occasional activity day in overtime/homeroom and kahoot game sessions based off of topics you are learning about. The kids here either are nice to you or just don't want to be around you (probably because of my skin color I have been a outcast for a little bit anyways). With macbook airs now completing class work is a lot easier along with student teacher communication on google classroom. This school has been overflowing for years now and it gets very crowded in the hallways.
