The same day, that afternoon, returned to exchange the MAC computer (UNOPENED and still in the same Bag) for the Alien-Ware Dell computer. What they did, was took the MAC computer, then Charged my Credit Card the additional $1,685.61 for the Dell-Alien Ware computer. They didn't exchange the computers, and that $1,977.08 purchase price for the MAC computer, is was sitting in an account somewhere (possibly up to 10 to 15 days), before it will be returned to my Bank account!!! This is the 1st week of school, where there is the need to purchase books, meals, housing, fuel, and other material to live while going to school. Do you have 2 thousand dollar$ of your own money unavailable to you for 2 weeks, during this time period? I don't, and find this sales organization misleading, and highly inconvenient.

I worked for this same parent organization (back when it ws computing services) back in the 80's, and loved it and the people I worked with while we assisted people with their hardware and software needs. I still find that the OUIT group still provides excellent helpdesk assistance. (Great people) However I find it appalling that there is now a "SALES" organization that is NOW part of the organization that I once worked, now has 2 stores to PUSH products and are more interested in making a profit, and less interested in considering the best interest of the students and the consumer.

They have good sales at the end of the school year!

Well I guess I'll be sending it to Microsoft...

Question: Do you have 2 thousand dollar$ of you own money unavailable to you during this time period (the first 2 weeks of school)?

A restocking fee... On a dud.... They literally cannot restock... Because it's a dud.... What is wrong with this place?

ANSWER: NO!!!

OU IT Store: 'sorry can't help you. Best we can do is do a return but charge a 20% restocking fee and in store credit. Or you have OU IT help desk look at it and only then we might be able to return it without the fee.'

Me: goes to help desk

Don't purchase from this store, especially if you are a student.

My personal experience:

Help desk and me: 'but you sold a dud'

Me: 'you've got to be kidding me...'

I bought my magic Keyboard from this store, the capital lock is not working consistently. So I went to the store, guess what, they sent me home and said there is nothing wrong with the product. Then I called Apple support, they agree to look into it and at least very positive attitude for trying to help me. But here, don't expect they help you so much.

That very morning, and noon, we asked around, and found experienced engineer students (moving back to the dorms), and they warned us that you DO NOT WANT a MAC computer. with the duel boot, as you will be down to 50% of the resources available on that MAC while running the emulation, which is already inferior to the Alien Ware/DELL. You really don't have to look far, you can call the OUIT helpdesk, and they will certainly not recommend a MAC.

I came in on Thursday 8/17/2017 morning after moving My son into the dorms, to purchase a computer for applications/programs provided by the courses during studies in the engineer college (chemical engineering). This Stores sales staff immediately recommended a MAC book ($1,977.08 with an additional USB adapter for MAC). Much later, After displaying this server, they indicated that to run applications provided by the engineering college, I would have to install and setup dual (duel -as it has to compete with other resources on this server) boot to emulate Windows) as the apps provided don't run on the MAC OS (then why would the college recommend a MAC??), but the sales person indicated that there would be no issue once you have installed and configured the duel boot (I disagree). I then asked about the Windows platform computers, and was directed to the Alien Ware computers by DELL. The platform that the engineering provided applications are designed, compiled, and are expected to execute. $1,685.61. The sales person reiterated that you would really want a MAC, as it is highly recommended by the college (over the the 'Dell?'). I had my doubts and concerns. Then the salesman assured me, that if we purchased the MAC, and shortly after classes started, we determined that it is not going to work, that we could come in and exchange it (UNOPENED) for the DELL Alien Ware on the Windows platform.

OU IT store: 'only thing you can do then is send it to Microsoft for repairs... Or return the 1000$ product with a 20% restocking fee and in store credit'

The 1st week of school with the need to purchase books, meals, housing, fuel, and other material to live on campus.

They have awesome technology to demo, like the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Google Glass.

OU IT store: 'sorry, we still won't waive the restocking fee.'

I've already spent easily 10 hours between messing with the device, talking to different people about it, driving back and forth to locations...

Help desk: 'yeah pretty obvious this is a lemon, let's call the IT store'

Me: 'so that brand new Microsoft Surface Pro 4 I bought from you last week was a dud, it took an hour to log on and I can't turn on the wifi among other bugs. I even did a full OS reinstall'
