All in all, I’d rate the experience as a 6/10. I’d be more pleased with a better deal on the original sets and an always-friendly sales rep. Maybe it was a bad day, but that means nothing on a commission salary. I’d like to do more business with Ashley if these medium/minor issues are taken care of.
As far as the store itself, it’s oddly lit, and the colors can be misleading, especially if one intends on taking pictures. Everything is priced too high. If I were to estimate, I’d say 100% markup isn’t unreasonable. There is so much room for negotiation. Play fair. Take into consideration the sales reps. quality in how much you’re willing to pay. The more I’m hounded, the more I’ll dig for a lower price. I did like that the reps. allowed us to look around without acting like vultures and made suggestions throughout.
I purchased a sofa for my office from the Home Store. The transaction was pretty simple. I appreciated the sales associate understanding my needs and turning me in the right direction. Delivery was uncomplicated. For inexpensive furniture the quality is what I expected and exceeded my expectations for comfort and utility.
After deliberating for weeks, I texted my sales rep. Tammy who had been phenomenal throughout most of my purchase. I could tell that she wanted my business, but I also felt her being pushy and unappealing. She’s very sweet, but when my friend mentioned I could purchase a mattress at Mathis instead, Tammy’s attitude flipped. She lied and said I couldn’t use my credit there—an attempt to push an overpriced mattress. Of the sales reps. I’ve spoken with since beginning my furniture search, she’s been the best, but I’m not so sure that’s something to celebrate. To be clear, she wasn’t bad, just aggressive. I didn’t appreciate her attitude with my friend, but her willingness to negotiate the price of the furniture was great. Things like free delivery or alternate sets of tables helped me along to lower the overall cost, and I’m pleased with the purchase, though I haven’t had it delivered just yet. I’d return to Ashley on the condition that honesty and a willingness to help and understand were shown throughout the purchase, not just when it means extra commission.
My husband and I brought our new sofa today! We were so pleased with Shawn Weatherford! He was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. He truly knows how to make you feel right at home! The sofa we picked is amazing. It's so comfortable and I could just fall asleep sitting on it. From the time we walked in to the time we left we had a great experience and can't say enough about how helpful Shawn was!!!
Loved the sectional I purchased -- however during the purchase process, and we talked about me having pets I was recommended to purchase the furniture protection plan. Well now my dogs have pull stuffing out of a rip in the cushion...and guess what? They don't cover pet damage. Which is the ONLY reason I purchased it. They lie to get your money and then do not care about you. BEWARE relying on anything anyone affiliated with Mathis Brothers tells you. AND DO NOT BUY THE FURNITURE PROTECTION PLAN, it doesn't cover anything but cleaning. You can do that yourself much cheaper.
Wonderful experience, went it with an idea of what we wanted and they showed us everything I asked for. Our lady Tomi was so helpful and gave us space as we thought it over and decided. Got it delivered a few days later and the delivery people were just as nice and placed our sectional exactly where I wanted. Thank you again!
