My family & I have a great experience at the Little Axe Area. We stayed on a tent site for five nights. We looked at some of the other areas first and they were disgusting! We had almost given up hope of finding a decent campsite. The entire set up of this state park is unusual and hard to navigate.
Pretty good. Definitely don't wear white, lots of red mud. If you are swimming off a boat, it's not so red but the beaches are orange silt.
Love taking the rv and camping out there. It usually is quite but sometimes during the summer times it does get a little noisy depending on where Ur camping at. But still love this place.
Little Axe campground has concrete pads with water and electric for trailers, good tables (most of them with shade covers), several pavilions for family get togethers, and wonderful tent sites. One of the nicest campgrounds I have had the pleasure to stay in.
Go out there to the south dam area to train Search and Rescue K9s every Sunday. Lots of distractions from other people riding moutian bikes and hikers. Lots of trails. Great for training wilderness SAR K9S
