It is a nice place for walking. However, we really couldn't get the address with Google map to get there. I recommend to carry a GPS if you are new to the park as you can easily get lost and don't know where your position is.
I've been going out to this park since 1980 I've mountain bike I've done everything out there have a beautiful time just last weekend then about four and a half hours after I ride my mountain bike leaving took me a little nap in the park I like some of the improvements they've made but not all of them I wish you was more natural or left more natural instead of putting in walkway through 5 feet wide kind of ruined the mountain bike experience but it's okay for walkers just means I have to work a little harder when I go mountain bike off road 2 foot high grass lots of trees and just comes with the territory for mountain bikers beautiful place awesome Birds makes you feel nature for all that is has to offer
A great park to have on the east side of Norman. The largest loop is about 1.5 miles, good for walking & jogging, fishers come to the pond, and there's a large field that's good for things like flying kites. Plenty of species diversity as far as plants and birds, and even some lizards & reptiles go. They're currently doing some renovations, like laying down gravel. As expected the finer gravel is already eroding and creating an unsmooth surface, making it difficult to run on, in addition to ruining the "nature" aspect of the park. I also read they plan to expand the parking lot which will be useful during busy hours, but in turn the trail will be more crowded.
I love going for walks it is just so pretty out here at Sutton and the people that walk out here are very nice.
We went for a short hike today with our dogs. While the loop is only a 1.3 mile walk we turned it into a nice 2.3 "hike" by exploring almost every side trail we crossed. We even had an elevation of 53 feet! I know we did some climbing! It was a great way to let the dogs run off some steam as we are "those" people who let their dogs run off leash until they meet up with other people on the trail. I'd give it a 5 star rating but trail is not marked and so it is easy to kinda not always know if you're actually on the trail or not.
