Attendant stated me & son had to pay for day use no problem but stated we couldn't use a pic -nic table only 3 souls were in the park! If we gotta pay for day use why can't we sit at a pic -nic table for 5 minutes! Bull sh-#! Lost a life long customer!
Almost all the spots are on the lake. And there is nice beach all the way around.
Been camping here nearly 50 years, long before it was a "camping area" with cables and gates. In 2010, a tornado blew Little Ax Camp Grounds away! Today, it's open again, but they tell me it's self-serve and no security at the gate. I'll tell you more in a few days.
We came to the little axe area....we camped for the first time out there... It was great!!! The sunsets we seen was amazing... We will be going again... People was very nice.. But didn't know that the gates close at 11.. So if you decide to go.. Stay in or you will get locked out!!!! Loved it!!!!
